FOLSOM, Calif. — The 2021-22 rowing season is winding down, and championship season is officially upon Saint Mary's. The Gaels will take part in two championships to close out the season, both of which take place on Lake Natoma. The first is the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association (WIRA) Championship on April 30, with heats beginning at 8:20 am and continuing throughout the afternoon.
THE DETAILS
Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship
Saturday, April 30 at 8:20 am

LAST TIME OUT
Two weeks ago, Saint Mary's raced against both Portland and Seattle up in Vancouver, Washington. The first varsity eight boat was within striking distance of both Portland and Seattle. The Gaels time of 7:34.5 was a slight drop from their previous races at Creighton, but with conditions a bit choppy, that should be expected. The second varsity eight boat was the best performing boat for SMC, finishing in second overall and just seven seconds behind Seattle's winning boat. Their time of 7:41.7 was an improvement of 24 seconds from their times at Creighton just two weeks prior.
