STOCKTON, Calif. – Saint Mary's got a good outing from
Conner Roberts on Saturday afternoon, but the Tigers extended their lead late and kept the Gaels to just two runs in a 7-2 loss to Pacific.
Starting pitcher Roberts was a little shaky in the first inning allowing back-to-back Singles, a walk, a wild pitch, and another single to put Pacific up 2-0. But Roberts would settle in after that, allowing just one more hit and no more runs finishing with just two walks and six Ks.

The Gaels got on the board in the top of the second.
Kyle Velazquez singled,
Coleman Schmidt walked, and
Dalton Mashore singled past the diving attempt of the Tigers third baseman to cut it to a 2-1 deficit for Mashore's fifth RBI of the series.
Â
It looked like the Gaels would break through in the top of the fifth, when the Tigers pitcher and third baseman get in each other's way on a good bunt by
Hayden Driggs. Then their first baseman dropped a pop foul near first base line giving
Gavin Napier second life before he drew a walk. That was followed by a Mistone single through the left side to load the bases, but the Tigers recorded two straight strike outs to leave the bases loaded.
Â
The Tigers carried that momentum into the bottom of the sixth when they doubled in a run to make it 3-1 Tigers and in the bottom of the seventh when they belted a two-run shot to right center to go up 5-1. They would tack on one more tow-run homer to go up 7-1 in the eighth.
Â
Napier produced a sac fly in the top of the ninth to cut it to 7-2.
