FAIRFAX, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Golf Team is competing in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, hosted by the University of California Berkeley, on October 9th and 10th at The Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif.
Â
This tournament is a staple in Northern California collegiate golf and will see some of the greatest teams in the region competing. The strong field will make for an exciting event for both players and spectators alike.
Â
The Meadow Club, a nationally renowned venue known for being Dr. Mackenzie's first design in North America is a simple layout with thought provoking shot options, natural landscapes, and incredible serenity. It is ranked among the best courses in the state and provides a fair yet enjoyable test to all who play it.
Â
In 18 editions of the tournament, Cal has won it 12 times, with Pepperdine as the only other team to win it multiple times, accomplishing it in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and '19. Â
Â
The Gaels are coming off a remarkable win in Fresno just a few weeks ago. They took the team title as well as the individual title by
Connor Reis. Reis also received the Shamrock Solutions Student Athlete of the Week Award. Their collective record-breaking performance gives them great momentum as they descend on Fairfax for this very important event.
