SAN FRANCISCO – After round one of the Goodwin hosted by Stanford, Saint Mary's Golf sits 10th of 27 teams with Mitchell Hoey leading the way for the Gaels.
Hoey finished even on the par-70 course in round one, good for 28th of 155 golfers. Ethan Ashbrook and Henry Fitzhugh are right behind him at 1-over par and Kristian Bressum is 2-over par after day one.
The Gaels as a team are tied for first in par threes converted with Stanford, Fresno State, Georgia Tech, and Hoey is tied for first in par threes as well. Fitzhugh is tied for second in par fours converted at 1-under and is tied for third in total pars made.
