MORAGA, Calif. — The regular season concluded on Saturday afternoon as Saint Mary's beach volleyball hosted Sierra College for their Senior Day. The Gaels sent off
Karmin Brown and
Hawley Harrer for their final home matches in Moraga for the 2023 season in a strong way, as Saint Mary's flew past Sierra College for a 5-0 win. With the regular season over, the Gaels record sits at 14-17 heading into the WCC Championship.
Â
The day began in the twos, as
Genevieve Bane and
Sadie Shipman looked great in a pair of wins. They won 21-13 and 21-14, and in both sets, they pulled ahead in the middle of the set, including a 6-0 run in the middle of the first set. For Bane Shipman, that is their fifth win of the season when paired together.
Â
Once both courts fired up, the rout was on for Saint Mary's.
Angie Bour and
Hannah Glick put up one of the most dominant performances of the year, winning with finals of 21-4 and 21-5 for a big win in the fives. Meanwhile on the other court, the first senior of the day was getting things going for Saint Mary's.
Karmin Brown and
Hannah Couch teamed up to also hold Sierra without double-digits in points in either set, with wins of 21-8 and 21-7 to roll onto a Senior Day win.
Â
It was more of the same with the Gaels top flight and fours finishing the day off.
Hawley Harrer took the courts one final this season with
Daniella Kensinger to win on Senior Day with finals of 21-7 and 21-14, running their season record to 19-11, the best on the team.
Allie Cataldo and
Paola Peralta closed out the day with two strong wins as well, with finals of 21-6 and 21-9 to secure a sweep for SMC.
