Connor Linchey was named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week after his dominant performance against the first-place Portland Pilots.

Linchey delivered seven innings of one-run baseball, allowing just two hits and one walk with three strikeouts. He didn't allow a run until his final inning of work, and that scored on a groundout.

It's the third-straight, strong start for Linchey, who threw six innings allowing four runs with just two walks and six Ks in a 6-4 win at BYU. Before that he threw five scoreless innings against Santa Clara with just two walks and seven strikeouts in a win over Santa Clara.

On the year Linchey is 2-1 with a 2.73 ERA in 33 innings pitched in five starts and nine total appearances. Opponents are hitting just .188 against him overall, just .227 with runners on base, and his WHIP is a 0.97. Saint Mary's is 4-1 in games he starts this year.

The Gaels host UC Davis at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday before resuming WCC play at Pepperdine this weekend.
