LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels booked their spot in the WCC Tournament on Saturday, though the USD Toreros won two out of three over the weekend.

SMC came up a run short against the University of San Diego on Friday, dropping game one 4-3 to the Toreros. Saint Mary's had a chance to tie the game in the seventh, but a play at the plate on the second runner the Gaels sent home on an infield single was thrown out at the plate.

The Gaels christened Brother Ronald Gallagher Stadium with a soft opening welcoming family and friends of the program, while the Gaels christened it with a flurry of offense in the opening inning. Leadoff hitter Gavin Napier hit his second home run in as many days, belting a no-doubt, solo shot over the fence in left to get the party started.

Saint Mary's baseball dropped the rubber match on Mother's Day in the conference and home finale as San Diego won 10-8 in a senior day shootout.

ABOUT FRESNO STATE
Fresno State Baseball is coming off a week where they claimed all three Mountain West weekly honors after completing a season sweep over UNLV.

Outfielder Grady Morgan went 7-for-16 (.438) at the plate, hitting three home runs and a double last week, with a team-leading 1.063 slugging percentage.

Morgan made several impressive defensive plays with a diving catch in right-center and a leaping catch in right field and hit a two-run homer in Friday's dominant win over UNLV. In Saturday's win over UNLV, Morgan hit his first back-to-back home runs in a Bulldog uniform, the first of which was on the first swing of the game.

For the third time in 2023, Roman Angelo was named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week. Angelo pitched his first career complete game in Fresno State's 10-1 victory over UNLV with only three hits and no earned runs against him. Through nine innings he only allowed one walk and tossed a career-high 10 strikeouts while holding the Rebels to a .100 average.

Murf Gray claimed his sixth Freshman of the Week award following his performance this week in contests with the Cal Poly Mustangs and UNLV Rebels. Gray went 4-for-14 (.308) this weekend against UNLV with three RBI and a walk.
