MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's Women's Tennis served aces both on and off the court this past season, as eight Gaels were named scholar-athletes by the ITA.
To qualify for the award, student-athletes had to maintain a GPA of at least 3.5 over the past academic year.
The Gaels had a solid 2022-2023 season, which saw them finish 7-12 overall and 3-6 in conference play.
Seniors
Lene Mari Hovda and
Jordan Harris lead the charge for SMC, as the dominant duos pairing set the tone for the young Gaels team all season long. The duo lead Saint Mary's with their impressive 11-7 doubles record.
The young Gaels also played well over the course of the season, as freshman
Iman Khan,
Tian Yu Dong,
Jamie Pope, and
Madison Weekley all contributed to numerous wins this season. Khan and Dong excelled on the singles side, while Pope and Weekley were doubles specialists for the Gaels all season long. On top of finishing their first season, the four freshman all excelled in the classroom and are included in the ITA's Scholar-Athletes list.

Saint Mary's Women's Tennis will be hard at work this off-season prepping for the fall season and tournaments that will begin at the end of September.
