Barnes is looking to lead the Gaels once again on November 2nd.

ABOUT THE RACE
In the West Coast Conference there are 11 women's programs: Gonzaga, Portland, LMU, Oregon State, Washington State, Pacific, Pepperdine, Saint Mary's, San Diego, University of San Francisco, and Santa Clara. Portland is looking to win the WCC Championship once again, as they finished six points ahead of the No. 28 Gonzaga last year. In previous years, the Gaels finished third of nine (2023), sixth of 10 (2022), and sixth of 10 (2021).
The course is a 2k Loop that is primarily flat on Bermuda Grass with occasional cart path crossing. The Gaels have fared well on this course in the past, winning the Pacific Invite four years consecutively (2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024). On this course earlier this year at the Pacific Invite, Saint Mary's took home first place out of nine with multiple WCC foes competing. Junior Kaylee Barnes won the race individually with a time of 20:58.5. Eleanor Jepsen (7th) and Andrea Villegas (8th) both placed in the top-10.
