MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's cross country team is headed to Salem, Oregon for the Charles Bowles Invite. The women will run a 5K course and begin at 10:20 A.M. This is the first time that the women will compete at this invite.
GAELS RECAP
At the Pacific Invite, the Gaels finished first overall, winning this event for the fourth time in as many years.
Junior Kaylee Barnes led Saint Mary's as she was the first runner to cross the finish line at the meet with a time of 20:58.5. Unattached/Redshirt Rayna Stanziano came in second overall with a time of 21:10.9.
Eleanor Jepsen was the next SMC runner to finish as she secured seventh place with a time of 22:06.9 with Andrea Villegas only 1.6 seconds behind her, finishing in eighth. Saint Mary's continued to place with Klara Frih in 11th, Luna Mole in 15th only 3.1 seconds off her personal best, and Emily Field in 20th.
ABOUT THE RACE
The course will run around Bush Park in Salem, before finishing inside McCulloch Stadium. The course will feature a variety of surfaces for runners to traverse, including grass, bark chips, track, blacktop, cement, and graveled paths.
