Bane Leads Gaels to Victory Over Pacific, Earns Second Shamrock Office Student-Athlete of the Week Honor

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's Women's Volleyball has won three in a row at home, and four of their last five. This has been due in big part to star outside hitter Genevieve Bane, and this week against Pacific was no exception. Bane came up with her second consecutive double-double, leading the Gaels to a 3-1 win over their rivals from the east, and giving the Gaels a 9-1 record against WCC NorCal foes over the past two seasons. This is Bane's second time winning this award this season, as she joins Hawley Harrer, Boo Laird and Chandler Cowell as the only Gaels Volleyball players to win this award twice in the same season.
Genevieve Bane yet again led the Gaels to victory, making it three straight at home and four of their last five. Bane led the Gaels with 13 kills while adding 12 digs against Pacific for her sixth double-double of the season, and her second in as many matches. Over the past five matches, Bane is averaging 17.2 kills and 9.6 digs per contest.
Bane and the Gaels will host Pepperdine on Thursday night at 7 PM before heading to Santa Clara on Saturday for a 1 PM first serve.
