RIVERSIDE, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Women's Tennis team defeated UC Riverside in five straight sets to give the Gaels a 4-0 win and push their win streak to three.
SMC duo
Stefanie Silva and
Sofia Daryaie defeated Highlander's Sydney Tran and Niki Shahbazi 6-2 in the first set of the doubles. The Gaels secured the doubles point with
Iman Khan and
Olivia Rook defeating UC Riverside Kei Kato and Brionna Nguyen 6-2. The last pair of duos did not finish their set.
Khan started the Gaels off strongly, winning the first single match play of the day 6-2, 6-1. Saint Mary's up by two, continued to put points up on the board with
Juliette Daries defeating Highlander's Kamya Nair 6-3, 6-4. Daryaie sealed the deal for the Gaels taking down UC Riverside Tran 6-1, 7-5.
The Gael will stay in SoCal to take on Long Beach State tomorrow, March 15th at 1:00 p.m.
