MBB | Aidan Mahaney Named a Finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year

BOSTON — After leading the Gaels in scoring and the WCC in three pointers made, sophomore Aidan Mahaney has been named a finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award. The award is presented annually to the top player in mid-major college basketball. The 2024 award will be announced in Phoenix, AZ, site of the men's Division I Basketball Championship.
Aidan was the offensive spark plug for the Gaels all season long. The Lafayette, California native led the Gaels in scoring, draining a WCC leading 80 three pointers. Aidan also finished second on the team in assists and led the Gaels with an 81.3% free throw shooting clip.
Aidan and the Gaels are getting set to depart for Spokane, where they will take on Grand Canyon in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday at 7:05 PM.
