MTEN | Gaels Look To Extend Win Streak As They Begin Conference Play

MORAGA, Calif. - The Gaels are heading into WCC play as they open the Conference here in Moraga, taking on Pacific this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and LMU on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The Gaels are currently on a three game win streak, recently defeating Nevada 4-3.
The Gaels are heading into Conference play as they open the season here in Moraga, taking on Pacific this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and LMU on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
The Wolf Pack swept the doubles point and won the first singles match, taking a 2-0 lead. SMC changed the dynamic on the court when Carlos Ramos Membrives took down Matheo Coupu in a 6-2, 6-1 win, followed by Pierre Lieutaud defeating Greg Valente 6-3, 6-0 to even out the score.
With a tied score, Thibaud Maxant outlasted Nevada Edgar Destouet for a 7-5, 7-5 win, giving the Gaels a 3-2 lead. The Wolf Pack came back and put another point on the board.
Saint Mary's Diego Jarry did not disappoint. Jarry clinched the match with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 for his fourth win of the season. Maxant is now 7-5 on the year and Lieutaud moves up to 5-2.
ABOUT PACIFIC
The Tigers are sitting on a 9-1 overall record so far this season with an eight game win streak, only losing to Oregon 4-0. In the doubles, No. 26 Tiger tandem senior Peter Alam and junior Justas Trainauskas are currently sitting at a 7-1 record this season, while duo Terence Das and Tiago Silva just won their fifth win together with a 5-2 overall doubles record.
Alam is the Tiger to watch out for as he remains undefeated this season in the single matches, securing his sixth win of the year against UTSA just a couple of days ago. The senior Ran Amar is sitting at a 7-1 overall single match this season.
ABOUT LMU
The Lions are currently coming out of a 10-11 2022-2023 season and currently are sitting at a .500 record of 6-6. LMU is 4-0 at home and 1-5 away. Over the past couple of matches, Max Wuelfing and Arthur Pantino have stood out securing single points for the Lions.
