Jack Jerge Leads Gaels to Tournament Win, Earn Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. — True freshman golfer Jack Jerge has been honored as this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week. Jerge led the Gaels to a team victory at the El Macero Classic this past weekend, while also helping the Gaels to a top five finish at the Tiger Intercollegiate. Jerge is the second Gaels golfer to earn Student-Athlete of the Week honors this season, and the first this Spring.

Jerge opened his week in Missouri by shooting a three round score of +1. That score was good for third amongst Gaels, helping the team finish tied for fifth, which was their best finish of the Spring. That statement quickly became false, as the Pleasant Hill native led the Gaels to their first team tournament victory of the Spring over the weekend in Davis. Jack shot back to back 68s to close out the tournament, finishing third individually with a score of -3. It was Jack's third time scoring below par in a three round event, and was his first ever individual top-10 finish.

Jack and the Gaels will have this weekend off, before heading to Bremerton, Washington for the WCC Championship.
