ROW | Gaels Tied for Third Place to Close Off Their Season

LAKE NATOMA, Calif. -  The Gaels wrapped up their season at the WCC Championships as Saint Mary's tied for third place with LMU with a total of 24 points.

SMC's 2v8+ boat finished third overall with a time of 7:12.84, coming in behind Gonzaga and San Diego. The Second Varsity 8+ boat tied their best WCC finish since 2015.

Throughout the season the Varsity 4+ boat made adjustments, allowing them to showcase those skills at the WCC Championships by rowing one of their fastest times this season at 8:29.00.

The 1v8+ boat placed fourth overall with a time of 6:56.89, as they were in front for the majority of the race.

To close out the season, Head Coach Brian Ebke stated  "I am so proud of our team for the hard work they've put in this year - our results today came from really leaning into challenges all year and it was a ton of fun watching them execute their best racing. We've had a long spring racing schedule and our whole team has used every race to learn and get faster. Our 2V was so strong in the second half of their race to hang onto a bronze medal. Our 1V executed exactly how we asked them to and had one of their best races of the year. Our 4 pushed hard early and was close to being in contention for a higher placement. It's really a fun time to be a Gael rower and today showed we have what it takes to compete within our conference!"
