WBB | WCC Announces 20-Game Women’s Basketball Schedule for 2024-25 Season

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its 2024-25 women's basketball conference schedule. With the addition of Oregon State and Washington State as affiliate members beginning this season, the WCC schedule expands to 20 games stretching over 11 weeks.

The Conference slate, which will continue to be contested on Thursdays and Saturdays, will begin on December 19, and will conclude on March 1. Each of the 11 weeks will feature five matchups, as the 11 programs vie for the conference regular season title and top seed in the 2025 Credit Union 1 WCC Basketball Championship.

The WCC enters a new chapter in 2024-25, expanding to 20 games with the addition of OSU and WSU as affiliate members. The Beavers will make their WCC debut at home against Pacific, while the Cougars will play their first WCC game at San Diego.

Gaels head coach Jeff Cammon returns for his second season and with a deep and talented recruiting class featuring ten newcomers, he will look to climb the ladder in the conference standings and seek their first double-digit conference win total since the 2018-19 season. Saint Mary's finished 6th in the WCC standings last season and fell in the first round of the conference tournament to LMU.

Saint Mary's will trade off with home and road contests to start the year, including road matchups against Santa Clara (12/19), Pacific (12/28) and San Francisco (1/2). During that five game stretch, the Gaels will make their home debut against LMU on December 21st and then host San Diego the day before New Years Eve at UCU Pavilion.

Following their road matchup with the Dons on the second, Cammon and his squad will kickoff a three game homestand featuring Washington State (1/9), Pacific (1/11) and Pepperdine (1/16). With the Cougars joining the WCC this year, the two will square off for the first time since 2018 with the Gaels owning a 7-3 series record including back-to-back victories in '18 and '17.

Following the team's three game homestand to start the month of January, Saint Mary's will embark on arguably their toughest stretch during the conference season with matchups against Santa Clara, Portland, Oregon State and Gonzaga. Of the four games, the Gaels will get the Zags and Broncos at home and take on the Pilots and Beavers on the road. Gonzaga and Santa Clara finished one-two in the league standings last season and Oregon State finished the 2023-24 season as the 8th ranked team in the nation after making the Elite Eight before falling to eventual National Champions in South Carolina.

The matchup against Gonzaga will take place on February 6th to start another three game stretch of home contests. Following the Zags will be San Francisco (2/8) and Portland (2/13) before finishing on the road in three of the team's final four games. Senior Day for the Gaels will take place on February 27th against newcomer Oregon State at UCU Pavilion and they will wrap up conference action on the road against LMU (3/1). As always, tickets can be bought online at smcgaels.com/tickets and you can stream all the conference action live on ESPN+.

For the 17th consecutive year, the Conference will host the Credit Union 1 WCC Basketball Championship at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. This season's event will be held March 6-11, 2025. The full Saint Mary's women's basketball WCC schedule can be found below and at smcgaels.com.
