10/3/2025 6:36:00 PM | Men's Cross Country
LODI, Calif. — Saint Mary's Men's Cross Country took on the Pacific Invitational finishing third out of a field of six teams. This was Saint Mary's second straight top five team finish this year, and their second best finish at this meet, which they have competed in every year since 2021.
The Gaels top five finishers all crossed the line earning their personal best times in the 8k at their showing in Lodi. Finishing first for the Gaels and 10th overall was freshman Anthony Sharp. In just his second collegiate 8k, Sharp improved his personal best time by over a minute clocking in at 25:38.4. Following right behind him and snatching eleventh place was Andrew Perez, crossing the finish line in 25:48.8. Perez has been a mainstay for the Gaels this season, running in every race this year and improving his 8K time with each performance.
True freshmen Jackson Woolf and Jacob Schuetze finished as the third and fourth Gaels to cross the finish line, at 13th and 17th place with PRs of 25.54.3 and 26:08.4 respectively. Rounding out Saint Mary's scoring was Diego Urdiales who crossed the line at 26:38.7 in 28th place. Uridales was the only Gael who had competed in this race in year's past, and finished 1:17.8 faster than his time from a year ago.
The Gaels will push to keep up this momentum as they prepare for their next race, the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Friday, October 10th in Eugene, Oregon.
