MORAGA, Calif. — A swiss army knife for Saint Mary's Women's Track, senior
Jaden DeSouza has competed in sprints, jumps, throws, and hurdles, but has particularly shined in the hurdles this season. Over the past two meets, DeSouza has run her first two sub-minute races in the 400 hurdles, winning both races. As such, DeSouza has been selected as this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week. This is the second time this season that DeSouza has won this honor.
At the Payton Jordan Invitational, DeSouza won her second consecutive 400m hurdles race. The senior out of Lihue, Hawaii broke the one minute mark in her last 400 hurdles race a time of 59.21, then missed that PR by just 0.02 seconds this week, winning the rendition of the event on Cobb Track at Stanford. DeSouza has the 37th fastest 400 hurdle time in the West Region. The top 48 earn a bid to NCAA Prelims.
