CERES, Calif. — The Saint Mary's Women's Cross Country team took to the course at the Kim Duyst Invitational, competing in a competitive field of 149 runners. With a group of younger runners, the Gaels gained valuable experience as they continue to meander through their schedule and inch closer to the WCC Championships in mid-November.
The Gaels were guided by freshman Kelsea Cummings who competed in only her second collegiate race and recorded a personal best time of 22:23.3. Sophomore Ava Luczkow finished second for Saint Mary's with her own personal best time of 22:39.2. Luczkow was followed closely by Andrea Villegas, who crossed the line less than one second later with a time of 22:39.9. Jane Carney (23:36.0) and Kylie Wisely (24:42.4) capped off the scoring for the Gaels.
Saint Mary's competes again in two weeks at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, September 27th.
