LAST TIME OUT (4th place at The Visit Stockton Invitational)

Saint Mary's has gotten off to a solid start this fall after another top-five finish, placing fourth in last week's Visit Stockton Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park. The Gaels sat at just one-over-par going into the final day, but a team low ten-under final round would leap them into fourth place at nine-under-par.

Sam Baumuller returned to vintage form once again on Wednesday, carding a team low 65 (-7) for his sixth round in red figures this season. His bogey-free final round moved him into a tie for ninth place for his third consecutive top-ten finish this fall. Joining Baumuller in red figures on Wednesday was second-year Gael Trey Tuyo who also went bogey-free for a career low 68 (-4). The Agoura Hills native led the Gaels to finish his three-round week tied for sixth at five-under-par for a career best finish.

Prior to the Visit Stockton Invitational, Saint Mary's checked in at No. 68 in the first edition of the Scoreboard national rankings last week. The Gaels are the fourth highest West Coast Conference program featured in the rankings behind Santa Clara (22), Pepperdine (44) and LMU (48). The WCC garnered four regional bids in 2026 and continues to stand as one of the best mid-major golf conferences in the country. Saint Mary's will look to climb the rankings in its fourth event of the fall season at Bayonet this week before concluding its fall campaign at The Preserve Golf Club Collegiate in Carmel later this month.

Round one action of the Saint Mary's Invitational will start on Monday at 8:20 a.m. Live scoring can be found HERE and additional tournament information can be found at smcgaels.com.
