SALEM, Ore. — The Saint Mary's women's cross country team wrapped up its split weekend on Saturday morning at the Charles Bowles Invitational, placing seventh out of 25 teams on the campus of Willamette University.
Freshman Audrey O'Connor led the way for the Gaels, taking 20th overall in a field of 235 runners in her first collegiate 5K. O'Connor continued a strong start to her freshman campaign and crossed the finish line in 18:05.8. She has now finished among the Gaels' top five in each of her first three collegiate races. Next in were the familiar duo of sophomores Courtney Fitzgibbon and Zoe Leach, who finished in 18:13.9 to take 25th place and 18:22.0 to snatch 30th, respectively. Junior Jane Harig finished next for Saint Mary's, crossing the finish line in 18:36.2 to take 45th overall. Rounding out the Gaels' top-five finishers was Ava Luczkow, who clocked a time of 18:46.4 to earn her personal best 5K time.
Senior Jane Carney joined Luczkow with a personal best of her own, finishing the 5K in 19:16.0, while sophomore Flavia Linares made her 5K debut with a time of 19:59.4.
