MGOLF | Lee and Baumuller Combine to Shoot 5-Under in Round Two

MARANA, Ariz. - The Saint Mary's men's golf team shaved two strokes off its first round score to finish Tuesday's second round at 2-over-par in the 2026 NCAA Marana Regional. The Gaels are alone in ninth place and got a pair of under-par rounds from the likes of Aidan Lee and Sam Baumuller who combined to shoot 5-under.
Lee added to his tournament score after an opening round 70 (-2) on Monday, shooting a team best 3-under on Tuesday which featured five birdies and a nice sand save on 18 to finish 69 (-3). Lee sits in a tie for 14th place and is in the mix for the top individual on a non-qualifying team, looking to become the first individual to qualify for nationals since program great Jonathan De Los Reyes did so back in 2012.
Sam Baumuller was the drop score on Monday but bounced back in a big way for the Gaels, carding his lowest tournament score of the week with a 70 (-2). Baumuller was one-over-par over his first nine holes as the Gaels flipped and teed off on one Tuesday morning, but played the back nine 3-under and bogey free to finish 2-under-par. Inigo Izuzquiza and Avery Lazarski were the other two counting scores for the Gaels at +3 and +4 to contribute to the team's 290 (+2).
