MARANA, Ariz. - The Saint Mary's men's golf team has arrived in Arizona and is set for the 2026 NCAA Marana Regional for its first regional appearance since 2019. The Gaels took to Gallery Golf Club for the first time on Sunday, completing a warm and breezy practice round ahead of the opening round Monday morning. The Gaels ended the 2026 regular season ranked No. 67 in the latest Clippd Scoreboard rankings and earned the 11-seed in the 14-team regional field.
Head coach Scott Hardy and the Gaels will look to advance to the National Championship for the first time since 2013 as one of the top-five finishing teams after the 54 holes. Hardy is not a total stranger to Marana as he took Saint Mary's to the 2016 NCAA Tucson Regional which was also held at The Gallery Golf Club in Marana. The Gaels finished that regional in ninth place with a squad that featured program great Jonathan De Los Reyes who most recently won the Napa Open on the Asher Tour back in December.
Additional regional information can be found below as Saint Mary's will kick off round one action at 8:25 a.m. with senior Mitchell Hoey off the tenth tee at Gallery Golf Club.

LAST TIME OUT (11th place at WCC Championships)
It was not an ideal finish to the 2026 season at the time as Saint Mary's fell to 11th place in the 2026 WCC Championships at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield. The Gaels fought their way to a 1-under-par day one finish over their first two rounds. Avery Lazarski and Inigo Izuzquiza each carded a 69 (-2) to bring the Gaels back to even par in the afternoon round. Saint Mary's sat in a tie for eighth place but dropped three spots in the third and final round to miss the match play portion of the postseason tournament.
This was just the second double-digit finish for the Gaels during the 2025-26 season and their first outside of the top-10, but they would hear their name called on Selection Sunday as one of the last at-large bids into the NCAA Tournament. Lazarski finished his three rounds at the WCC Championships 1-over in a tie for 23rd place as the Gaels low finisher while redshirt freshman Sam Baumuller finished 5-over-par in a tie for 40th.
NCAA REGIONALS HISTORY
Monday will mark the tenth team NCAA Regional appearance and the 14th all-time as the Gaels have had four individuals qualify for regional competition with the first coming from Joe Lanza in 2004. Saint Mary's has advanced to the National Championship three different times with its most recent appearance coming in 2013 after finishing third in the Pullman Regional. Mac McClung and Jonathan De Los Reyes each finished inside the top-6 to aid a 842 team score for the Gaels' best regional finish.
Saint Mary's took a trip to The Gallery Golf Club in 2016 as members of the Tucson Regional where they finished in ninth place. The Gaels' last team regional appearance came in 2019 with a trip to Texas in the Austin Regional. Saint Mary's placed 11th with a lineup that featured another program staple and All-WCC First Team selection in Blake Hathcoat. Hathcoat was also responsible for representing Saint Mary's as an individual in the 2021 NCAA Regional in Albuquerque which was his third career NCAA postseason appearance. Head coach Scott Hardy is responsible for all 14 individual and team NCAA Regional appearances in the program's history, dating back to 2004.
