VB | Gaels Open 2026 Season at Home Against UC San Diego; 2026 Fall Schedule Announced

MORAGA, Calif. - The Saint Mary's volleyball team announced its complete 2026 fall schedule on Friday with the Gaels opening up play at home against UC San Diego on August 28.
Year two of the Tyler Hildebrand era will begin at home after playing the first 13 matches of the 2025 season on the road. Saint Mary's will co-host along with Cal in a non-conference tournament during the opening week and take on UC San Diego, Southern Utah and Cal before making their first road road trip of the season to Sacramento the following week. The Gaels will take on Texas Tech, Nevada and Sacramento State as the Hornets host a round robin at The Nest starting on September 3. Additional non-conference tournaments will include a three-match trip to Boise State before concluding their non-conference slate back at UCU Pavilion with matches against New Mexico and Fresno State on September 17 and 19.
West Coast Conference play is slated to start on September 24 with Saint Mary's heading to Southern California to take on reigning league champions San Diego. Hildebrand and his squad will remain on the road to start conference play with matches against Denver, LMU and Pepperdine. Their conference home opener will take place on October 8 against Seattle U who Saint Mary's swept in both meetings last season in 2025. Saint Mary's will then conclude its WCC schedule on the road against Pacific.
