AS A SENIOR (2022-2023)
Cross Country: During his final season with SMC, McLain raced in five races…set a best time at the WCC Championships with a time of 24:52.0…finished 63rd…set a best time in the 10k at the NCAA Division I West Regions with a time of 31:32.5
Track: Competed in 10 races throughout the spring…best time in indoor mile at 2023 UW Preview with a time of 4:28.12…best time in 3000m at WCCAA meet with a time of 8:37.06…4th overall and 2nd fastest on team…won the 5000m at Cardinal Classic in a time of 14:52.40…fastest on team by four seconds…best time in 1500m at Fresno St Invite with a time of 3:59.74…6th fastest on team
AS A JUNIOR (2021-22)
Cross Country: Ran in four races for the Gaels as a junior...began the season with his best overall finish of the year, registering a 34th spot finish at the San Francisco Invite...ran a personal best at the Bronco Invitational with a mark of 25:17.3 on October 16.
Track: Opened up the season with his best-ever 3000m showing, a time of 8:47.72 at the West Coast Opener on March 5, good for tenth overall...finished in seventh place at the Cal Poly Invitational in the 5000m with at ime of 15:17.27...set consecutive PRs in the following two meets: the Mike Fanelli Classic (10000m PR of 32:24.99) and Johnny Mathis Meet (1500m PR of 4:06.72)...landed one final PR in his final race of the year, coming at the West Coast Last Chance on May 15, with a 14:57.81 in the 5000m, finishing in third overall.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2020-21)
Cross Country: Did not race in either of the two races during the abbreviated 2021 spring season
Track: Competed in seven different meets for the Gaels during the 2021 track season as a sophomore...began the year with his first collegiate 5000m and finished with a 17-place finish...set a PR in the 5000m the next time out at the APU Distance Carnival with a 15:44.63...set a PR in the 1500m two weeks later at the Bryan Clay Invite by finishing in 4:14.37...improved in the 3000m to finish the year with a PR in that race at the SCU Bay Area Duals by going sub-9 minutes (8:56.78 for a 13th-place finish).
AS A FRESHMAN (2019-20)
Cross Country: Competed in three races for Saint Mary’s during the 2019 season...Made his collegiate debut at the USF Invite where he raced a 28:39.1 good for 66th place in the field...Raced again at the Stump Invitational (29:35.6) and the Bronco Invite (27:38.2) to round out his season
Track: Competed in both meets for the Gaels in 2020…began his season at the West Coast Invitational and posted a top-20 finish in the 1500m with a time of 4:22.72…ended his year at the Cal Opener with a 4:15.84 in the 1500m, shaving seven seconds off for a personal best.
