Rosa started her coaching career in 2008, when she returned to the Bay Area, from New York, to her alma mater as the assistant coach for the Oakland Strokes. In that position, she led the nationally recognized juniors rowing club and Novice 4+ to gold at the SW Regionals.
Rosa continued coaching with East Bay Rowing Club in Oakland, California, as the Men's Masters Head Coach leading the team to an undefeated racing season, followed by another coaching position with Oakland Tech Rowing, a juniors program that served the Oakland Unified School District.
She returned to East Bay Rowing Club in 2023 as its Head Masters Rowing Coach, leading three assistant coaches and squad of over 50 rowers to several medal finishes: first place trophy cup winners at San Diego Crew Classic in the Women's Masters 8+ and silver medal finishes for the Men's 4+, Men's 4x, Mixed 4+ and Women's 2- at the 2023 SW Regionals Masters Regatta.
A college environment is a familiar and comfortable one for Rosa thanks to her tenure at Cal as the head coach of the women's lightweights team. Throughout her two years in Berkeley, she was responsible for every aspect of the program, including recruiting, student-athlete development, race schedules and alumni relations.
In addition to Rosa's coaching experience, she possesses extensive leadership experience gained throughout her 16-year career in business development and marketing by working with numerous top tech companies, including Apple and Google, by leading large direct and cross-functional teams.
Rosa was a four-year varsity standout at William Smith College and led its Varsity 8+ to a Liberty League and N.Y. State Championship titles, in addition to a pair of NCAAs bids in 2007 and 2008. The two-time All-American earned Rochester Collegiate Athletic honors and earned her undergraduate degree in economics with a focus on mathematics and asian languages.
Since taking up the sport in 2001, Rosa earned several medal finishes as a member of the Oakland Strokes and New York Athletic Club, a high-performance rowing club based in Rye, N.Y., River City Rowing Club (Sacramento), Lake Merritt Rowing Club (Oakland), and East Bay Rowing Club (Oakland).
Rosa, a USRowing Level 2 coach, also holds Adaptive and Masters coaching certifications.
