The Lady Dons would extend the lead to as many as 11 points, in the first half, on a Lindsey Huff jumper at the 5:39 mark. The Gaels cut the lead to 33-29 by the 4:22 mark, but another short run by USF had the Lady Dons leading 41-31 with 1:14 remaining in the half. Two free throws by Davis and basket by Jerkisha Dosty cut the lead to six at the intermission.

Jerkisha had 13 points and Jermisha had 10 rebounds by halftime. Huff was 4-for-6 in the first half with nine points to lead USF at the break.

San Francisco's lead reached eight points to open the second period. The Gaels steadily chipped away at the lead, eventually taking a 65-64 lead with 6:41 remaining. This time Saint Mary's would not let go of the lead. Saint Mary's extended its lead to 72-66 on three free throws and Ferris' second basket of the game. The Lady Dons cut the lead to 72-69, but 7-of-8 free throws for the Gaels down the stretch iced the game.

Lindsey Huff led San Francisco with 17 points and six rebounds while adding four assists. Joining her in double figures was Lisa Whiteside with 12 points and Alicia Hernandez added 11.

Saint Mary's will return to action on Friday, January 25 when it continues WCC play against Portland. On Saturday, January 26 the Gaels will conclude a three-game home stand against Gonzaga. Tip-off for both games are scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at McKeon Pavilion.
