Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's soccer team (9-8-1/3-2 WCC) fell to the #5 ranked Portland Pilots (14-3-1/4-1 WCC), 1-0, in West Coast Conference action on Sunday, October 27.

Neither team was able to put the ball in the net as the score remained 0-0 at halftime. The Pilots outshot the Gaels 6-0 in the first half.

At the 62:43 minute mark, Portland ended the scoreless tie when Lindsey Huie connected on a shot to the upper right corner on a double-assist from Emily Patterson and Kristen Rogers.

SMC goalkeeper Ruth Montgomery finished with 10 saves, while the Pilot's Lauren Arase recorded one save. The Gaels were outshot in today's contest 14-2.

The Gaels will return to WCC action on Sunday, November 3, when they host the #12 ranked Pepperdine Waves on Garaventa Field. Kickoff is scheduled for Noon.
