Brooke Lowry Named to All-Tournament Team

Moraga, CA - Senior setter Brooke Lowry (Paradise Valley, AZ) was named to the 2002 Nike Pacific Invitational All-Tournament Team. Despite tough losses to #21 Pacific and #15 Arizona, Lowry led by example, playing with confidence and poise as she averaged a double-double for the tournament.
In the opening match against Pacific, Lowry posted her first double-double of the tournament with 28 assists and 11 digs. In the Gaels' match against #15 Arizona, Lowry posted 23 assists and six digs. However, Lowry saved her best game of the tournament for last, posting her second double-double with an astounding 54 assists and 13 digs. Lowry's efforts on the court seemed to be contagious as several other of the Gaels' players also had career-nights in the match against British Columbia. Jill Parmele, Lindsey Bogason, and Kaui Salzman all posted career high statistics in the game. Parmele had 18 digs and 12 assists, while Bogason and Salzman had 19 and 21 kills, respectively.
The Gaels will return to action in Hawaii on September 21-22. They will open up against #3 Hawaii at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and will also play against Houston at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both games will be played at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, HI.
