Lake Natoma, CA - On Saturday, the Saint Mary's women's rowing team participated in the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships (PCRC) at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, CA. The Gaels competed in both the varsity four and novice four competitions and advanced to the grand finals in both.

In the varsity four, the top three boats from the two heat races advanced to the grand finals. The Gaels varsity four boat, which was stroked by Lindsey Anderson, Breezy Jackson, Lindsay Juricich and Anna Hiser, and coxed by Amy Bellman, posted the fasted heat time at 8:09.2. In the finals, SMC rowed to a time of 7:49.3 and finished four seconds behind Seattle Pacific for second place overall.

In the novice four competition, SMC advanced to the finals by posting a heat time of 8:15.0, which was the fifth best time in the three heat races, and second in its heat race. With the top two boats from each heat race advance, SMC's second place finish in their heat race behind the California "B", which had a time of 7:57.7.

SMC's novice four boat was coxed by Ashley McShane and stroked by Lindsey Anderson, Anna Hiser, Dana Smith and Christine Dentry. In the grand finals of the novice four competition, the Gaels rowed to a time of 8:29.9 and finished sixth overall.

The PCRC races matched the final competition of the 2003-04 season for the Gaels' rowing team.
