Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team received an excellent victory at No. 1 singles, but could not hold off visiting Pacific on Saturday afternoon, losing 5-2 at Korth Tennis Complex. With the loss the Gaels fall to 7-5 on the season.
Aude Lambert, playing at No. 1, beat her first nationally ranked player of the year, No. 68, in straight sets 7-5, 6-3. The Gaels also received a victory by Feline Charlot at No. 6 singles, winning in three sets 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
Lambert improved to 8-4 on the season in singles action and Charlot improved to 4-4 on the year.
The doubles team of Aude Lambert and Jessica Hoath earned a victory, winning 8-4. Lambert and Hoath are now 4-1 as doubles partners playing in the No. 1 spot.
The Gaels return to action on Sunday, April 3 when they host UC Davis at 11 a.m. at Korth Tennis Complex.
