Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team won the doubles point, but couldn't secure three singles matches and lost 4-3 to visiting Santa Clara on Wednesday afternoon at Korth Tennis Complex. With the loss the Gaels fall to 8-6 on the season.
In doubles action, the team of Aude Lambert and Jessica Hoath won 8-3 and the team of Feline Charlot and Stef Ordoveza won 9-8 to give the Gaels the first point of the match.
In singles action, Lambert won 6-3, 6-4 to improve to 10-4 during spring play. Hoath won her singles match 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 and Ordoveza lost a tough three-set match 6-2, 6-7, 6-4.
The Gaels return to action on Saturday, April 9 when they travel to Fresno to face the Bulldogs at 2 p.m.
