Northridge, CA - The 23rd ranked Saint Mary's volleyball team won their second match of the day on Friday night, beating UNLV 3-0 in the second match of the Cal State Northridge Tournament. The Gaels improved to 2-0 on the season and will wrap up the tournament on Saturday night against Cal State Northridge at 7 p.m. in Northridge.
The Gaels were led by Kaui Salzman, who had 13 kills and seven digs in Saint Mary's 30-18, 30-28, 30-22 victory against the Rebels.
Saint Mary's was also led by Missie Stidham, who had nine kills and eight digs, Brittany Barker added eight kills and nine blocks and Christina Kirk had seven kills and four blocks.
As a team the Gaels hit .333 in Game 1, .250 in Game 2 and .214 in Game 3. Saint Mary's improved to 2-0 on the season and 2-0 under new head coach Rob Browning.
Mandy Bible led the Gaels with a match-high 32 assists.
