
Volleyball Beats North Florida, Wins Troy Tournament

Troy, AL - The Saint Mary's women's volleyball beat North Florida 3-0 on Saturday morning and in the process won the Troy Tournament with a 3-0 record. Saint Mary's beat Troy and Florida A&M on Friday.
The Gaels beat the Ospreys by scores of 30-28, 30-22, 30-26. Saint Mary's once again had a balanced offensive attack as setter Mandy Bible ran the offense and had 21 assists, four digs and four blocks.
Missie Stidham, Brittany Barker and Taylor Groess each had six kills in the match and Megan Burton and Lauren Jaeckel each had five kills.
Defensively, Nikki Gonzalez had 13 digs, Stidham added nine and Lyndsey Parker had five digs. As a team the Gaels totaled 10 blocks.
Saint Mary's returns to action on Friday, September 1 when it travels to Lincoln, NE to take on the No. 1 ranked Huskers in the Nebraska tournament.
