Senior (2010): Played in 85 sets starting 24 matches at libero for the Gaels…finished the season with 273 digs which was third on the team, averaging 3.21 digs per set which was good enough or second…both the 273 digs and the 3.21 dps were career-bests…she recorded 16 double digit dig performances in 24 of the matches she played…she finished second on the team with 28 aces which almost doubled her career total of 29 heading into the year…in West Coast Conference play she was at her best, recording 10 or more digs in nine of 11 conference matches…she finished WCC action with 137 digs which was second on the team…she led the Gaels with a 3.51 digs per set average which was seventh in the conference…on 10/23 against Loyola Marymount she tallied a season-high 18 digs with two aces in the four set win…against San Diego State on 9/10 she tallied a career-high five aces...in conference play she was particularly lethal with the serve, tallying 15 which was second on the team and third in the conference.
Junior (2009): Appeared in 15 matches, playing 37 sets..recorded a season-high 10 digs in the straight sets win over San Jose State on September 9...recorded five digs against Gonzaga on November 19...recorded an assists and two digs in the straight-sets win over BYU on November 28...recorded one dig in the win over UC Santa Barbara in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament...has recorded 52 digs on the season...averaged 1.41 digs per set on the season.
Sophomore (2008): Began the season as the Gaels' starting libero, before missing 10 matches due to injury...prior to the break in the season the libero tallied double-digit digs in four out of six matches, including a season-high 16 against UC Davis on August 29 and CS Bakersfield on August 30...against Fresno State on August 30 the sophomore tied her career-high with three aces, while also adding six digs...in West Coast Conference play she has totaled double-digit digs against No. 20 San Diego and Portland, scooping up 11 and 10 respectively...played in 54 sets for the Gaels, accumulating 128 digs and eight aces...averages 2.37 digs per set.
Freshman (2007): Totaled five or more digs in 19 matches and 10 or more digs in six matches...tabbed a season and career-high six kills against both Portland (Oct. 25) and Gonzaga (Oct. 27) on the road, while also adding 11 and seven digs respectively...recorded four kills on nine swings for a .444 hitting efficiency against Portland on September 29, while also scooping up seven digs...posted five kills versus UC Davis on September 14, while also adding seven digs and one ace...chipped in eight digs versus UC Santa Barbara on September 13...recorded 11 digs and two aces against Fresno State on September 2...tallied a career and game-high 23 digs versus Arizona at the Wildcat Classic on August 25...posted eight digs and two aces in her first appearance as a Gael on August 24 against Eastern Washington...participated in 24 out of 28 matches this season, accumulating 178 digs, 39 kills, 19 aces, 16 blocks, and 12 assists.
La Costa High School: Comes to Saint Mary's from Carlsbad, CA...she attended La Costa Canyon High School where she earned three letters in volleyball...led her team to three straight CIF Championships from 2004 to ‘06 including Palomar League Championships in `05 and ‘06...named Athlete of the Week twice by the North County Times...awarded with All-San Diego honors as well as All-League honors...was also recruited by Fairfield, Furman and Yale.
Personal: Kelly Elizabeth Huston was born on July 16, 1989 in San Diego, California...daughter of Jeff and Julie Huston and has a younger sister Kari, 16... Also recruited by Yale, Furman, and Fairfield...chose Saint Mary's because she liked the campus and the coaching staff...majoring in Liberal and Civic Studies and plans on becoming an elementary school teacher... also enjoys traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with friends and family
