Keegan Cook enters his sixth year as a full-time assistant coach for the Gaels and his ninth with the Saint Mary's Volleyball program. Promoted to the position of top assistant in April of 2010, he shares in all of the program's coaching responsibilities.
"Keegan has been a major part of our success over the past six years," said head coach Rob Browning. "He went from student assistant, to second assistant, to first assistant and every step of the way has worked tirelessly on this team's behalf. The ammount of energy, thought, passion, and enthusiasm Keegan puts into his job is remarkable. He is always thinking of ways to make our team better, and always with an acute awareness and concern for the overall well being of the individuals who make up the Saint Mary's Volleyball family."
Cook works primarily as the team's offensive coordinator working directly with setters and middle blockers. The 2012 Saint Mary's offense finished 2nd in assists, 6th in kills and 22nd in hitting efficiency nationally among all NCAA Division I institutions. Since the 2009 season, a Saint Mary's middle blocker and/or setter has been place on the All West Coast Conference First Team.
In 2009, Cook helped guide Saint Mary's to its second consecutive 20-win season as the Gaels posted the second-best record in program history at 23-5. Saint Mary's logged a perfect 13-0 mark at home and set new school records with an 11-match winning streak and a 13-1 record in West Coast Conference matches to net the program's first-ever WCC title. Saint Mary's made its fifth appearance in the NCAA tournament and nearly took out Pac-10 champion Stanford in the second round.
In his three previous years as the program 2nd assistant Cook's primary tasks included recruiting, scouting of opponents, statistical gathering and analysis, academic support, travel coordination and organization of summer camps.
In addition to his role on the Saint Mary's coaching staff, Cook has been coaching for the NorCal Volleyball Club for the last six years. All of Cook's teams qualified for the Junior Olympic Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

With Cook as the head of camp operations, Saint Mary's sold out camps in 2007-12.
In his first two years Cook worked as a student assistant for the program. Throughout the 2005 and 2006 seasons Cook gathered statistics during practices and matches that were essential to the program's success. As a student Cook was a setter and Vice President of the Men's Club Volleyball Team. While on the team Cook was named to the first team of the Northern California Club Volleyball League in 2006 and 2007.
