
ROW | Gaels Improve Times At Head Of The American

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's rowing team raced at the Head of the American over the weekend, improving on its times (from last year) by a wide margin in the eights.
The Saint Mary's novice eight finished in seventh place out of 12 crews. The Gaels finished ahead of Cal Maritime Academy, Cal Ltw A and B and a pair of Chico State boats.
In the collegiate eight, the Gaels finished 17th and 18th with their B and A boats. The Gaels defeated local rivals Sacramento State and UC Davis. SMC also topped the Cal Ltw. And Stanford Ltws. There were a total of 25 crews in the race.
The SMC collegiate four finished in eighth place out of 14. The Gaels beat crews from Mills, UC Davis, Cal and USC.
