VB | O'Sullivan Receives First Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week Honor

MORAGA, Calif. — Alex O'Sullivan received her first Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the week of Oct. 15-19. The junior middle blocker had a dominant match against Gonzaga last week and led the team with seven blocks against Portland on Saturday.

Playing in all three sets against the Bulldogs, the Albany, Calif. native hit a scorching, .556 with six kills and only one error in nine attempts.

Against the Pilots, she also collected six kills (.455 hitting) and tied a season-high of seven blocks including a block solo. Her blocks were part of the team's 13 which is SMC's second-highest total this season.

O'Sullivan leads the team with 83 blocks (33 more than the next leader) and her 1.17 blocks per set is ranked just outside the top 50 in the nation.

Saint Mary's will take their 13-5 record (5-3 WCC) on the road this week for a match against USF on Thursday at 7 p.m. and Santa Clara on Saturday at 1 p.m.
