MORAGA, Calif. — The Gaels begin the Saint Mary's Thanksgiving Classic on Friday where they will play host to Milwaukee, UC Riverside, and No. 3 Oregon. SMC will take on Milwaukee on Friday and Oregon on Saturday.
SCOUTING REPORT
Saint Mary's enters the classic with a 2-1 record, defeating both Wyoming and Washington State to open the season. Senior

Sam Simons are tied for the team lead with 13.7 points per game while Raggio also leads the Gaels in rebounds (7.7).

Simons had a big game in SMC's previous contest against No. 8 Oregon State. She scored a career-high, 16 points while posting a field goal percentage of .857 (6-for-7) which was also a career-best.

In the Gaels' win over Washington State, head coach
Paul Thomas broke the Saint Mary's women's basketball all-time wins record, registering his 237th victory in 12+ seasons. The previous record (236) was held by Terri Rubenstein who coached the Gaels for 14 seasons between 1983 and 1997. For the full release,

MILWAUKEE
The Panthers are 1-3 this season with their first win coming against Columbia on November 16. There are two Panthers currently averaging double-digit point totals including Megan Walstad (10.8) and Jamie Reit (10.0). Walstad is also the team-leader in rebounds, averaging 5.8 per game. Milwaukee tied for fourth in the Horizon League last year with a conference record of 11-7 (21-12 overall).

This will be the first time that the two programs have met and the Panthers will also face UC Riverside on Saturday.
OREGON
The No. 3-ranked Ducks are 4-0 to begin the 2018-19 season and they are outscoring their opponents by an average of 32.75 points. Ruthy Hebard (18.3 points per game) leads a contingent of five Oregon players who are averaging double-digit points and has also compiled six blocks thus far. Sabrina Ionescu has been averaging a double-double with 17.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.

Saint Mary's is 2-6 all-time against Oregon and the Gaels have taken the last two contests in 2012 (78-69) and 2011 (72-62). The last time the two faced off in Moraga was in 2010 when the Ducks came out on top 100-71.

Oregon will also face UC Riverside in the Classic's first game on Friday.
