MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's will complete their five game home stand to begin the 2018 season this week as they host San Jose State and Cal Poly. Thursday's match against the Spartans will kick-off at 4 p.m. while Sunday's 1 p.m. start against the Mustangs is part of a double-header with the women's soccer team taking on Fresno State immediately following the match.

The Gaels are off to their best start in program history with a 3-0 record this season. The team has not allowed a goal so far and redshirt junior keeper Remi Prieur has made 14 saves to accompany his three clean sheets.
Eight different Gaels have recorded points this season and leading the pack is Anders Engebretsen who leads the conference in points with nine (four goals, one assist) and is third with 13 shots taken. The Oslo, Norway native is also tied for seventh in the nation in goals. Not far behind is Lucas Andrews who has three goals for the Gaels and ranks third in the conference in points (six) and goals (three).
Saint Mary's +10 goal differential currently ranks as the best in the WCC and the team sits just outside the top-25 in the coaches' poll (34th). The Gaels also rank tied for fifth in the country in scoring offense (3.33).
ABOUT SAN JOSE STATE
San Jose State enters Saint Mary's Stadium with a 1-2-1 record this season. The Spartans are coming off a 2-1 win on the road against Sacramento State where sophomore Omar Lemus scored both Spartan goals in a four-minute span. In their season opener, SJSU tied then-No. 1 ranked Stanford 0-0 in Stanford.
Spartan keeper Alex Clewis sits among the nation's best in saves with 24 this season. Clewis made a season-high 11 in his overtime clean sheet effort against the Cardinal.
The Spartans got the better of Saint Mary's in the two teams' most recent matchup, a 2-0 win in San Jose last season. The Gaels are 11-17-2 all-time against SJSU but are 3-1-2 in the past six matches.
ABOUT CAL POLY
The Mustangs currently sport a 1-2-1 record but haven't won since their 4-1 season opener against Fresno Pacific. Cal Poly spent the past week in the Pacific Northwest, tying against Gonzaga in double overtime before falling to Seattle and Portland.
Five different Mustangs have found the back of the net already this season while Emmanuel Perez leads the team in points with six (two goals, two assists). Simon Boehme has made four starts for Cal Poly in goal and has an impressive 20 saves thus far.
Saint Mary's is 4-11-2 all-time versus Cal Poly with the last matchup ending in a 0-1 loss in San Luis Obispo. The Mustangs have won the last three decisions between the two teams, all in 1-0 fashion.
