WSOC | Gaels Host USF to Open WCC Play

Saint Mary's will host San Francisco on Saturday to begin their West Coast Conference schedule.
MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's will play their first conference match of the season this weekend as they will host San Francisco on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Links and tickets for the match can be found by visiting the Gaels' schedule page.
The Gaels own a 6-4 record going into Saturday's match against USF and will look to earn their fourth straight shutout. In their last time out, SMC closed out their non-conference slate as they recorded a 1-0 victory over UC Davis. In the contest, Jaylen Crim scored the lone goal for Saint Mary's which is good for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
Crim has been at the forefront of the Gaels' efforts this season as she also leads the charge in shots (25) and points (13). Crim ranks sixth in the WCC for points as 13 is also a career-high for the senior. Sophie Santos and Kaytlin Brinkman follow close behind Crim with two goals a piece.
In net, Maleah Milner has tallied 34 saves in 10 matches and has recorded four clean sheets so far this season for the Gaels.

The Dons are currently 7-3-1 this season and are coming off a 3-2 win over UC Davis last weekend. In the contest, Ashley Humphrey scored two of the three total goals for San Francisco and the Dons outshot the Aggies 13-10.
Senior Miciah Madison has carried the offense this year with her team-leading four assists, 16 points, and 28 shots, with 18 of those coming on target. Madison and Samantha Jehnings each lead the team with six goals a piece in 11 matches played. Goalkeeper Olivia Camera has started in all 11 games for the Dons and has notched 48 saves.
The Gaels and the Dons last played each other in 2018 where San Francisco earned a 2-1 win in overtime over SMC. Saint Mary's holds the all time record between the two teams of 19-11-1.
