MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's (7-9-1, 1-5-1 WCC) will look to host Santa Clara on Wednesday for their final home match of the year before traveling to southern California on Saturday to face off against Pepperdine to close out their 2019 season. Wednesday's contest will begin at 2:30 p.m. while Saturday's matchup will start at 1 p.m.

In their most recent game, the Gaels took on Gonzaga last week where they put up a hard fight all the way to the whistle but were ultimately overcome by the Bulldogs' 75th minute goal to secure the 1-0 victory. Prior to the match, Saint Mary's honored their seven seniors,

As a team, Saint Mary's have outshot their opponents 242-236 while averaging 14.2 shots per game, which is good for fourth in the conference. Goalkeeper Maleah Milner ranks fourth in the conference in total saves with 55 and is just five saves away from tying for third in the WCC.

Santa Clara currently ranks second in the conference as they hold a 11-5-2 overall record and are 5-0-2 in WCC action. The Broncos are coming off a 3-0 victory over Loyola Marymount last week for their ninth shutout of the season. During the contest, freshman Izzy D'Aquila scored two of the Broncos' three goals and SCU outshot LMU 22-3, with 12 of those shots coming on frame.
D'Aquila leads the team in goals and shots as she has recorded 13 tallies and has posted 68 shots with 32 of them coming on net. Kelsey Turnbow follows close behind D'Aquila as she has collected 11 goals and 10 assists while posting 52 shots. Both D'Aquila and Turnbow rank second in the conference in multiple categories.
Santa Clara holds a 27-3-4 all-time record against Saint Mary's with their last meeting coming in 2018 where the Broncos defeated the Gaels 4-1. Â

Pepperdine currently hold a 9-6-2 overall record with a 5-2-0 conference posting. Before heading into Saturday's match against Saint Mary's, the Waves will travel to San Francisco to face off against the Dons for their final road match of the season. In Pepperdine's most recent contest, Madi Cook scored the game-winning goal off a penalty kick in the 97th minute to take the 1-0 victory over San Diego.
Five different Waves have each scored three goals a piece this season while Joelle Anderson leads the team in shots with 55. Leyla McFarland has also led the Waves' efforts as she has posted five assists to add to her 11 points. Goalkeeper Kinsey Ehmann has tallied 52 saves in 13 game appearances while recording six shutouts.
Pepperdine leads the Waves-Gaels rivalry at 11-8-5 but Saint Mary's defeated Pepperdine in their last contest in 2018 as the Gaels secured a 1-0 victory at home over the Waves.Â
