SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Saint Mary's competed in their second official race of the spring season on Saturday, placing multiple boats in the water at the Hornet Invitational.

The Gaels' varsity four boat made big strides over their previous race, improving by 17.4 seconds. Meanwhile, SMC's varsity eight boat posted their best race of the day in the opening contest with a time of 6:51.9

QUOTABLE

"It was challenging racing against great teams today," said head coach Anna Pytlak. "It is satisfying to see the team posting faster times compared to last year at this point. We learned a lot from this weekend and are feeling motivated to get back to work on Monday!"
