SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Saint Mary's rowing team visited local opponent Sacramento State and placed well in each of their four races.

The highlight of the day for the Gaels was the second varsity eight race, in which the Gaels place second behind Sac State with a time of 6:41.2. In the varsity eight, the Gaels came in fourth place (6:30.1) just a second behind Humboldt State, and six behind Portland.

Saint Mary's varsity four boat finished sixth with a time of 8:21.6 and the SMC novice four boat placed fourth and recorded a time of 8:41.5.

"It was great to get out and race other teams today after training in our own all winter," said head coach Anna Pytlak. "As a team we have a really good idea of where we are at now and we are looking forward to getting back to work to prepare for the Hornet Invite next week!
