Earle Selected as Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Softball pitcher Sofia Earle was named the MMSAOTW after dazzling in the circle against Santa Clara.
MORAGA, Calif. – Freshman pitcher Sofia Earle has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week after firing over seven scoreless innings in two appearances against Cal and Santa Clara.
The lefty had her best performance of the season on Saturday with a complete game shutout against the Broncos. Earle allowed only four hits, didn't walk anyone, and struck out seven to earn her third victory of the season. The win marked the first time this season a Gaels' pitcher has thrown a complete game shutout.
Earle also made a brief relief appearance on Wednesday out of the bullpen as she recorded one out against Cal. All told, the freshman ended the week with a line of 7.1 IP, 0 R, 6 H, 1 BB, 7 K, 1 W.
Saint Mary's returns to the field today as they host Sacramento State for a doubleheader. First pitch begins at 1 p.m. on Cottrell Field.
