VB | Browning Leads USA to Gold at Pan Am Cup

MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's volleyball's head coach Rob Browning recently led the U.S. Women's National Team to their third-consecutive gold medal at the Pan American Cup after sweeping the Dominican Republic in the championship match.
 
Team USA won every one of their six games in Peru and five came by way of a sweep. Their toughest contest came against Puerto Rico who went four-sets against the U.S. after they took the third by the score of 27-25. In the gold-medal match, the Dominican Republic tested USA in the final set, but the U.S. held on for a 29-27 victory.
 
Middle Brionne Butler from the University of Texas performed well in the championship match, collecting four kills, two blocks, and six points. Meanwhile, outside hitter Kadie Rolfzen (University of Nebraska) amassed two kills, one ace, and one block and she was named the Best Attacker of the Tournament. Browning will now head the U.S. Women's National Team at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru August 7-11. The team opens round robin pool play against Argentina followed by Puerto Rico and Brazil. For the full release, click here.
