MTEN | Gaels Pick Up Two Wins at Napa Valley Classic

Saint Mary's won a match on both the singles and doubles during the first day of the tournament.
ST. HELENA, Calif. — Saint Mary's had two players compete in the opening day of the Audi Napa Valley Classic on Friday and picked up two wins between singles and doubles play.
Damon Kesaris defeated junior Cash Hanzlik in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Teammate James Watt faced Harvard's Robert Wrzenski but ended up falling in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2.
The Gaels' duo then teamed up to take on Cal's tandem of Barretto-Hoffmann and easily won, 6-1.
Tomorrow, Watt will take on Baylor's Sven Lah at 12:30 pm while Kesaris faces Cal's Paul Barreto. Doubles pairings are to be determined but play begins after 3 p.m.
