MTEN | Gaels Earn Two More Victories in St. Helena

Saint Mary's picked up a win on the singles and doubles court during Day 2 of the Audi Napa Valley Classic.

ST. HELENA, Calif. — Saint Mary's picked up wins once again on both the singles and doubles court during the second day of the Audi Napa Valley Classic at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort on Saturday. 

Damon Kesaris advanced to 2-0 in the tournament with a win over Cal's Paul Barretto. The Gaels' senior needed just two sets to pick up the win in 6-3, 7-5 fashion. James Watt put up a good fight in his match against Baylor's Sven Lah but ultimately fell, 6-4, 6-4. 

The Saint Mary's tandem went up against USTA juniors Samir Banerjee and Luke Casper and cruised to a 6-0 win to improve to 2-0 in the event. 

UP NEXT: FINAL DAY
Kesaris will face off with Harvard's Harris Walker in the final match of group play at 9 a.m. while Watt will not play a match as his opponent has withdrawn from the tournament due to injury. Winners of group play will enter a shootout beginning at 1 p.m. for the individual title.
