GOLF | Saint Mary's To Appear on National TV This Week

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. — Saint Mary's men's golf opens their spring season today in Southern California at the Southwestern Invitational at North Ranch Country Club. The 12-team tournament will feature three rounds over three days and wrap up on Wednesday.
Gael fans can watch the team compete live as the tournament is being broadcasted on the Golf Channel beginning at 1:30 p.m. Pacific. Alternatively, the Golfstat leaderboard can be found here.
Saint Mary's lineup will feature Blake Hathcoat, Ethan Ashbrook, Ethan Farnam, Dylan VanderVeer, and Dylan De Prosperis. A total of 66 competitors are playing in the event.
Aside from SMC, the tournament boasts a number of talented programs. Also competing are the host No. 1 Pepperdine, No. 7 Georgia Tech, No. 28 San Diego State, No. 35 California, No. 26 East Tennessee State, No. 6 Arizona State, Augusta, San Jose State, No. 12 SMU, No. 29 USC, and No. 14 Louisville.
The Southwestern Invitational is the Gaels' first event since early November. Saint Mary's was able to play in three small fall tournaments this season as hosted by Golden State Golf Tour and was the first SMC program to return to sports in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
